Canva + Book Creator = Engaging e-texts
Tuesday July 15, 2025 8:30am - 9:30am EDT
Imagine being able to give students a textbook that has exactly the right content that they need in order to be successful. Sure, some disciplines have online textbooks, but rarely are they designed to meet all your curriculum needs because every teacher and every classroom situation is different. Whether you are a core content teacher looking for ways to condense information into more palatable chunks for your students or you are a related arts teacher with no textbook, this is for you! In this session, you will learn how to harness the powers of Bookcreator and Canva to build an interactive e-textbook for your classroom that you can customize to your exact needs!

Gizmos in the Math & Science Classroom
Tuesday July 15, 2025 12:15pm - 1:15pm EDT
Gimzos is an interactive math and science website suitable for elementary through high school. There is a wide range of topics for students' exploration, experimentation, and visualization. Greenville County Schools purchases Gizmos for grades 3-5 in the areas of math and science, and Gizmos are also available for science in the middle and high school grades. This session is intended for teachers new to Gizmos, not for advanced users. We will look at the website's organization, topics, and features, as well as discuss a variety of ideas for classroom use. The presenter is a fifth-grade teacher and will focus mostly on the elementary curriculum; however, middle and high school teachers are also welcome to attend.
